How many times have you left a meeting thinking "I'll remember the key points" and then, two days later, you can't recall who committed to what? Or you're preparing for a follow-up call and you can't find your notes from the last conversation - because you didn't take any?

Raven solves this by automatically saving everything from every recording as a session. No note-taking required. No "did I capture that?" anxiety. When the meeting ends, everything is there.

What gets saved in a session

Every session in Raven captures:

The complete transcript - every word said by both sides of the conversation, labeled by source. "Mic" entries are what you said, "system" entries are what the other person said. Each entry has a timestamp, so you can see exactly when something was said.

All AI responses - every time you asked the AI for help during the call, that exchange is saved: what action you used (assist, follow-up, recap, custom), what you asked, and what the AI responded. This is useful context that you might want to reference later.

A generated summary - after the recording ends, Raven sends the transcript to the AI and generates a title and summary for the session. The title is a concise description of what the meeting was about (like "Q2 Pipeline Review with Marketing Team"). The summary captures the key points, decisions, action items, and any notable moments.

Session metadata - the start time, end time, duration, and which mode was active during the recording.

Browsing and searching sessions

All sessions appear on the Raven dashboard in chronological order. Each session shows its title, duration, and when it happened. Click on any session to open it and see the full transcript and AI exchanges.

The dashboard includes search, so you can find past sessions by keyword. If you remember that someone mentioned a specific project name, deadline, or topic, you can search for it and jump straight to that part of the conversation.

The post-session flow

When you stop a recording, Raven's post-session flow kicks in:

  1. The transcript and AI responses are persisted to the local SQLite database.

  2. Raven generates a session title and summary using the AI.

  3. The session appears on the dashboard, ready for review.

This all happens automatically. You don't have to save, export, or do anything - just stop the recording and the session is there.

If you're using Raven Pro, there's an additional step: the session syncs to the cloud backend for access across devices. But this is optional - the core session storage is always local.

Incognito mode

Sometimes you don't want a record. For sensitive conversations where you want AI assistance during the call but don't want anything saved afterward, Raven has incognito mode.

When incognito is enabled, the recording works normally - you get real-time transcription and AI assistance - but when you stop recording, nothing is persisted. The transcript, AI responses, and any other session data are discarded. There's no trace of the conversation on disk.

This is useful for conversations that are confidential, legally sensitive, or simply ones where you'd prefer not to have a permanent record.

Tips for getting the most out of sessions

Use modes consistently. If you always use your "Sales" mode for prospect calls and your "Standup" mode for team meetings, your sessions will be naturally organized by type. The notes template from each mode shapes the generated summary, so sales sessions will have summaries focused on pipeline and next steps, while standup sessions will summarize by person and blockers.

Review sessions before follow-ups. Before your next call with someone, open the previous session. Having the exact transcript - not your fuzzy memory of what was said - makes follow-up conversations dramatically more productive.

Use the transcript for accountability. If someone committed to a deadline or a deliverable in a meeting, it's in the transcript with a timestamp. This isn't about "gotcha" moments - it's about making sure nothing falls through the cracks.

Search across sessions. If a topic comes up that you vaguely remember discussing in a past meeting, search for it. Raven's search across sessions is fast and exact.
